nursery plans

in approximately three months baby girl will be here! (i'm freaking out a little inside as i write this) our home only has two bedrooms on the main floor, so since we've renovated our basement, cohen will be moving to the bedroom downstairs, and his old room will become the nursery.

there isn't a lot of work to do because we're keeping all the nursery furniture as it is, but we will be painting and adding some fun touches of colour as well.  the photo on the top left is my inspiration. i'm planning to paint the walls white or a very, very, light aqua blue and then adds pops of pink and coral, and maybe a bit of gold as well.  there's no real theme to the nursery, but i do like me some bows lately, so i plan to add bows wherever i can.

elizabeth from iviebaby will be sewing my crib bedding and she picked out the beautiful colours and patterns of fabric in the bottom middle photo. i'm using all of the ones on the top row for sheets, a crib skirt, change pad cover and a bunting banner. i'm thrilled to be working with elizabeth as i've always admired her store, her style and her blog. girl's got talent.

i'm really hoping to find a pretty blue and white rug like the one on the bottom right...anyone know where i could find something like that? your tips would be greatly appreciated!

what's your favorite colour scheme for a little girls nursery? what about for a boy?

  1. Oh wow! Beautiful photos! I don't have any kiddos yet--but I love the idea of baby blue, brown and white!

  2. I saw on Pinterest how you could make one of those ombre rugs using fabric paint. You should do a search and see what you find! I love the colours - non-traditional and elegant. Good choices!
