cohen lately

this boy just keeps getting cuter each day. that strawberry blonde hair, the button nose, the bluest blue eyes, he just kills me with sweetness.

his favorite toy lately is a ball. and any ball will do. purple ball? great. bouncy ball? wonderful. spikey ball that lights up when you bounce it? even better. 

he also loves his sippy cup. since we've been trying to keep the soother out of the picture during the day, the sippy cup has become his very close friend. either milk or watered down apple juice is usually his drink of choice. and when he drinks, the cup is always off to the side - i think so it doesn't obstruct his few. little man doesn't want to miss a thing.

cohen loves music. any time music comes on he sings or hums or claps or grooves. and this past week he got to experiment with his uncle's drum set, and it was little boy heaven. i'm thinking we'll have to get ourselves one of these sometime in the next few years.

as always, he loves books. every since he was born we've read to him and it seems to have worked. reading books may be his favorite past time, other than playing with balls. we probably read a dozen books a day (which makes me feel less guilty about the time we spend watching silly songs on you tube!)

he loves dogs, especially our bailey, and oma and opa's pup, cassy. i love that he is growing up around animals, and comfortable with them. it's also giving us a chance to teach him how to be gentle before baby comes. here is cohen gently petting cassy - so sweet.

these days i can barely keep up with all the running and jumping, dancing and climbing. oh the climbing. i turn my back for one second and he's on top of the chair, the coffee table, the wooden blocks, the toilet, you get the picture...

and everyday i'm reminded how truly blessed i am to have this special little person in my life. he truly is the sweetest part of my day, the light of my life, the apple of my eye.
