cabin fever

we've been stuck inside for the past week because of the ridiculously cold weather. i actually like the cold, but its much too severe for my sweet boy to go for the walk he asks for everyday. i fear his little nose would fall right off his cute face.

so we've been inside. every. single. day. inside.

this is a little peak into what we've been up to.

playing with cups while wearing boots. bet you haven't seen that one under "toddler activities" on pinterest.

a  lot of looking out the window. looking at the snow. looking at the trees. looking at the occasional vehicle that rumbles down the street and trying to convince him that every single one does not hold "bumpa" (cohen's version of "grandpa").

oh, and i've been cleaning and organizing, then watching it get messy again. that's been truly thrilling!

on the bright side, i get to spend almost every moment with this sweet face. that helps. a lot.

how's january been treating you? long? cold? monotonous?

  1. Oh, I've had horrible cabin fever here too! I don't know if I've ever been more excited and anxious for spring! I think a lot of it for me has to do with being pregnant too, though :) Anyways, your little guy is a cutie!!!

    1. Me too! And yes, I think it does have a lot to do with anticipating this new arrival...we're so blessed that our babies are due in spring!

  2. If you're stuck inside, at least the winter light is absolutely beautiful! (so soft and diffuse and pale...man I miss that).

  3. Is it crazy for you to think that I wish, just wish, we had a little snow? Oh how I do love it....but we never get it. That view looking out your window is just beautiful. :) And no doubt, day after day it gets hard. What a blessing for him to be with you in those days. :)

  4. I thought my girl was the only one who called her grandpa "Bumpa". Nice to know there are other kids out there - we get some weird looks when she uses it!

Hopefully the cabin fever ends quickly. It's hard not going outside.

  5. I am also a winter lover, but this one has been difficult. I hope we have an April like last year where it was so warm that we could to wear shorts. My friend from Vancouver was visiting and she made me see the bright side of things when she told me that the sun here is just beautiful. She said she felt like this was her Sun Destination. So, at least when we're stuck inside because it's so cold, the beautiful sun is streaming in :)

  6. January is just too long of a month! I cannot say good-bye to it fast enough. I'm normally such an upbeat and optimistic person... but January has been HARD! Maybe next winter I should plan a little winter getaway:)
